What we deliberately do not sell you
This matters more than the list above, so we've put it in plain sight rather than in a footnote.
We do not provide the purchase agreement, the letter of intent, a promissory note, a non-compete, or any other transaction document. Those decide who inherits which liabilities, how the price is allocated for tax, what happens if the buyer defaults — and they need a licensed attorney in your state who has read your actual circumstances. Anyone selling you a fill-in-the-blank purchase agreement for a business is selling you a risk you can't see. What we do instead is assemble the handoff packet so your attorney starts with everything in front of them, which is the part that makes their bill smaller.
We do not sell your business or find you buyers. We are not a broker and we take no commission, ever. You post the listings under your own name on the marketplaces, you pay them directly, and buyers contact you rather than us. We never sit between you and your buyer.
We do not tell you what your business is worth or what to ask for it. We calculate your earnings from your figures, show the published multiple ranges for your industry with sources, and leave the pricing decision where it belongs — with you and your accountant.
What you'll pay elsewhere
Being straight about the rest of the budget: the marketplaces charge their own listing fees, typically somewhere between roughly $60 and $200 a month depending on the site and package, paid by you directly to them. We've set out what each one costs and who it suits. Your attorney's fee for the purchase agreement is separate and varies widely. Budget for both.
Refunds
If the documents fail to generate, arrive corrupted, or contain another business's information, that's a full refund, no discussion. If something in them is wrong because of an error in our process, we regenerate at no charge. What we can't refund is a business not selling, or a disagreement with figures you supplied — we prepare documents, we don't sell businesses, and no honest service can promise a buyer.
Is this worth it for your business?
If your business earns very little, or you already have a buyer lined up and just need papers drawn, you may not need us — go straight to an attorney. We'd rather tell you that now than take $299 for something you won't use. The free estimate will give you a sense of the scale involved before you decide.
